Understanding support options

At Mercy Health, we provide you with everything you need to make informed and confident choices about your disability support services. Whatever your needs or goals, we put you in control of the supports you receive, when you receive them and who provides them—we encourage you to be involved in choosing the people in your support team. We’ll step you through what to do, where to go, what’s involved in the process, and answer all of your questions.

How can Mercy Health help?

We’re here to make your life easier. We can help you reach your goals, and build on your strengths, capabilities and independence. We can assist you if you have state funding for disability services, have been injured in a road or workplace accident and we are an approved National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider.

We can help you get on with your life. Get out and about—whether it’s to an event in your local area, catching up with family or friends, or getting to and from your school or job. Are there opportunities, hobbies or interests you want to pursue?

You can develop your life skills if you’re moving out of home for the first time. Or, if you want a hand with the work of running a house, family or job.

We have experience assisting children and adults. We can help your family and friends take a break.

We’re happy to work with you if you manage your service planning and claiming yourself via Myplace. If you’d prefer us to manage the claiming process, we can do that too. We’re here to meet your needs.

We understand you want:

  • Choice and control.
  • Tailored services suited to your lifestyle and goals.
  • Flexibility to change services when needed.
  • A team that understands you and your needs.
  • A ‘yes we can’ attitude.

What disability support services are available?

The following services will give you an idea of the types of services and support we can provide. Remember, we’re very adaptable and keen to accommodate your specific personal needs and preferences.

For those with National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding, we are an approved provider in the areas of Victoria, ACT & NSW where the scheme has been rolled out.

Our disability services align with the NDIS support categories:

  • Assist life stage transition
  • Assist personal activities including high intensity and overnight support
  • Household tasks
  • Community participation
  • Assistance with travel and transport

Through the above NDIS support categories, you can use funding to access our variety of services:

In your home

Support to help you get ready for your day. Assistance with managing your household and taking care of everyday chores, like keeping your home clean and tidy, making the bed, and doing the laundry.

Getting around

Assistance getting to work, school or appointments. Support to increase your skills and confidence using public transport and getting out and about in your local community.

Health and wellbeing

Support to maintain and improve your health and fitness. Assistance with menu planning, healthy eating, cooking, and shopping for groceries. We can support you with building independent living skills to support your independence, confidence and self-esteem. We can support you to develop money management skills, and help you manage your health, household, presentation and clothes.

Fun, family and friends

We can help you connect with, and get to, local community groups and activities. Our team can support you to meet new people, make new friends, and try new things. If you don’t want to get out and about, that’s ok too. We can support your hobbies and interests in the comfort of your own home.

Caring for your carers

Our team can stay with you during the day or overnight. This can be planned so you and your Carers get a regular break from the everyday routine. We can also help at short notice if anything unexpected takes place.

What costs are involved?

There are no additional costs if you have state or federal government funding for disability support services.

If you do not have approved funding or would like to purchase additional services, over and above what your government funding allows, please get in contact or learn more about your funding options.
