The Next Chapter

On 1 July Southern Cross Care (Vic) and Mercy Health merged, forming the largest not-for-profit aged care organisation in Victoria.

Together we now serve over 4,500 home care clients and 34 residential aged care homes. Mercy Health is now among the 10 largest not-for-profit aged care providers nationally.

This merger strengthens Mercy Health and Southern Cross Care (Vic) at a time when aged care is changing in response to community needs, market expectations and changes to government funding.

Coming together means an increased range is services, flexibility and choice for our clients and customers, while also giving us greater stability in the market.

Together we continue to provide exceptional care and deliver on our mission – supporting people to age healthily, stay connected and fulfil their hopes and dreams.

Mercy Health continues on in our shared Catholic heritage, building on the founding visions of the Sisters of Mercy and the Knights of the Southern Cross. The tradition of the Knights of the Southern Cross will not only enrich the Mercy Health charism, but will also remain a strong and visible part of the Mercy Health heritage in future.

You do not need to change anything about the way you do business with us – it is business as usual. If your organisation has a service agreement with both Mercy Health and Southern Cross Care (Vic) these agreements, including key contact details, bank accounts, ABN registration and pricing, remain unchanged.

We look forward to keeping you informed as the plans for integration of the two businesses develop over the next 12 months.
