Proposed new Aged Care Quality Standards focus groups

  • Read in 1 minute

In March 2021, the Australian Government announced an urgent review of the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Since then, there has been some consultation with a range of stakeholders to review and strengthen the Quality Standards, which has led to a revised version that the Australian Government hopes will be easier to understand, relevant to more aged care services, more measurable and easier to implement.

There are seven proposed Quality Standards.

  1. The Person
  2. The Organisation
  3. The Care & Services
  4. The Environment
  5. Clinical Care
  6. Food and Nutrition
  7. The Residential Community.

In October and November, the government is planning to run a round of online consultations. We encourage you to participate and provide your valuable feedback.

Listed below are the focus groups that are specially targeted at consumers, their families, carers and representatives. This will give you the opportunity to have your say to influence the way quality is measured across the aged care sector.
